  • What is the registration process?
The first step in the registration process is for you to complete the Origins/ The Woods expression of interest form. You can access that from HERE. After you fill out the expression of interest, you will be contacted by the centre provided there is a space available. Once a space has been confirmed for your child, you will be invited to tour the centre, meet the executive team and you will be required to pay the registration fee ($125) to secure your space.
  • What is the payment process?
We invoice our clients biweekly for the next 2 weeks of childcare services. Payments are automatically withdrawn from your bank account (we will ask you for these details during the registration process) every second Friday. Upon registration, our team will let you know when your payment will be withdrawn.
  • I can't afford childcare but have to go back to work. What are my options?
The provincial government offers a program and administers the subsidy process. To inquire on your eligibility and/or apply, visit:
  • Why should I choose Origins over other centers?
Origins offers exceptional facilities which often provide space, play and learning far beyond legislative requirements. All our rooms have Early Childhood Educators on Staff, ensuring a solid learning experience for your child. On top of all this, our facility is among the most respected in the region leading significant change in the childcare space. Most families end up at our center based on referrals from others. Parents enjoy the sense of community, meeting like minded families and building their children's social circles with new friends. Origins NLC was established in 1995 by founder and current CFO, Jennifer Arseneault. Jennifer first opened a facility in Millidgeville serving 40 families. Today, the company offers early learning and childcare in four locations across the greater Saint John area, serving more than 400 children and families every day. We take pride in the quality provision we provide and seek to enhance the field of early learning and childcare both locally, nationally and internationally by sharing what we do with others via social media and by constantly investing in our own knowledge and growth as early childhood educators. Origins’ appointed Dr. Erin Schryer as CEO in July 2018. Erin holds a PhD in Education and specializes in early childhood development and early literacy. Erin provides educators across Origins NLC regular, frequent support and guidance in the classroom to ensure children and families are provided the best care and learning opportunities possible. She understands well and highly values the importance of the early years and seeks to share this importance widely, whenever she can. Origins NLC has Executive Director’s at each facility who are responsible for the overall management and operation of the facility. They work closely with colleagues at Education and Early Childhood Development on items related to compliance and curriculum, as each of our facilities are provincially licensed. At Origins we value the competence and abilities of children first and foremost. We recognize parents as key partners in children’s education and care and offer close collaboration with families at all times. We encourage you to learn more about us by booking a tour or meeting. We look forward to meeting you.

  • Do you offer preschool?
Yes, all provincially regulated early learning and childcare facilities in New Brunswick must follow the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework for Early Learning and Child Care. This curriculum framework, implemented well, offers children a high-quality preschool experience. We are proud to offer this to children and families.
